DJCC has been serving the Fort Lauderdale community since 2000. At Downtown Jewish Center Chabad everyone is welcomed as family. Children, adults, singles, couples, young and old feel at home. Our unique approach and unconditional acceptance of every Jew, regardless of affiliation or background, has created a dynamic and flourishing Jewish community. We are constantly expanding our programs and services to serve everyone and we invite you to join us at any time.
Rabbi Schneur & Devorah Kaplan, emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, founded the Downtown Jewish Center Chabad in 2003. Our philosophy, way of life, mission and inclusive approach in serving G-d and reaching out to our fellow Jews and all of mankind, is based on the teaching of the worldwide spiritual leader Rabbi Menachem M. Our communal services in which all of the congregants participate, takes on a joyous spirituality, expressing connectedness through song, personal expression and meditation in prayer.
In addition, our varied educational classes and study sessions have become a hallmark of our community.
Our philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, to cultivate within children a lifelong passion for learning and exploration.
We wholeheartedly believe that children who are drawn into learning through positive experiences
in a holistic setting develop a love of learning that they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Our mission is to provide and promote the highest quality Hebrew and Judaic education to a diverse community of Jewish children. Our aim is to nurture and build the
foundation of your child’s Jewish identity through our interdisciplinary educational approach. The focus of our dedicated teachers is to inspire a twofold love; a love for
learning and a love for Judaism.
