On Yom Kippur, as we stand before Hashem asking for life, health, sustenance and blessing for the year ahead, attach your tzedakah to the sacred honor of an Aliyah.
Women are invited to participate as well by sponsoring an Aliyah for a husband, son, father, brother, family member or friend, in their honor or as a merit for someone special.
Our Sages teach, “Aser bishvil she’titasher” — “Give a tenth so that you may become wealthy” (Ta’anit 9a). Hashem tells us, “Test Me in this… and see if I will not open for you the windows of Heaven and pour out blessing ad bli dai — beyond measure.” (Malachi 3:10)
