Meet our Hebrew School Staff
Devorah Kaplan
Devorah graduated with a degree in Education from Beth Rivkah Seminary, Yerres France. For the past 18 years, she has devoted herself to the education of Jewish Children and adults. She has administered, taught and written curriculum for Hebrew schools, Bar and Bat Mitzvah Clubs, as well as day schools and adult classes. It is our greatest honor to have her oversee the Downtown Hebrew for Kids program.
Julie has a Masters Degree in Special Education and over ten years of teaching experience. Her Special Education career started at the Brooklyn Hebrew School for Special Children. Over the years Julie has taught children and young adults with numerous developmental disabilities. In addition to teaching, Julie has been Director of a Special Needs Sunday School Program and Resource Room consultant.
Esther Hecht
Esther Hecht is a devoted and creative educator.For the past three years, she has passionately given her time and
energy toward educating the children at DJCC. From Hebrew School to
teen club and one on one learning, Esther has proven her talent and
experience. Esther graduated Torah Academy with Honors in all Subjects. She
attended Seminary abroad in Tel Aviv Israel majoring in Pedagogy. She
is presently doing her BA at Touro College.
Esther is one of 11 children born to Chabad Emmissaries on South Africa.
She has devoted her life to the continuity and love of Judaism and Israel through educating the next generation.
Samantha Epstein
Samantha Epstein graduated Judaic Teaching Seminary
in Melbourne, Australia. As a student, she volunteered at Hebrew
Schools and numerous after school programs. She has been teaching
and tutoring in Hebrew School programs for over 5 years. Samantha’s
years spent directing Jewish Summer Camp programs and coordinating
Jewish Youth groups has given her unique experience that she uses to effectively educate Jewish children in a challenging, caring, and fun
atmosphere.
Chaya'le Gluckowsky
Elisheva Hirsch
Shevi is a senior in RBCA. This is her 5th year working in
a Hebrew School and her 3rd year working together with Samantha. This year she is also in charge of the
childrens' program on Shabbat at the Chabad of Coral Springs.
Sarah Gruber
My name is Sarah Gruber and I have been a member of the
Hollywood community for the past ten years. I am a mother of three and my two eldest will be attending DTJ along with
some of your children .My relationship with
Chabad began many years ago and it has been a constant source of spiritual
connection in my life!I have a degree in education and I am currently the art teacher
at Brauser Maimonides Academy in Hollywood .During my fourteen years as a teacher and eight years as a
parent I have learned that I enjoy
inspiring children. I will take a creative approach in imparting knowledge and
a love of Judaism upon your children.
Whether they are learning about our fore fathers or mitzvot, the experience
your child will have in my class will help to create a love of Torah!
